About OutPostFilm
OutPostFilm is a niche editing facility based in Cape Town South Africa, with a second studio in McGregor, a country village 2 hours from the city.
It is run by award-winning editor ASHLEY SMITH who has more than twenty years of experience in finding elegant ways to tell stories using moving pictures and sound.
He is a member of the South African Guild of Editors.
OutPostFilm provides attentive personal service. We do not book you into one of many “rooms”, with one of many “operators”. Your needs are our entire focus while you are with us.
We provide you with delicious healthy fresh foods and refreshments, and support you in many understated ways. We understand the need to nurture a creative process.
Ashley prefers to use the latest Avid Media Composer. It is the industry standard editing application and with good reason. In addition we have a comprehensive suite of peripheral applications and hardware, including Final Cut Pro, DVD authoring, music composition, soundtrack creation and still image processing.
Literally hundreds of projects have been enhanced and completed by Ashley to the delight of many clients. Attention to detail, going those extra miles, and a flair for finding solutions to problems, are some of the gifts which set his art apart.
